We bought this to replace the chandelier we had in our old dining room, now billiard room. It is beautiful and really looks great in the room while lighting up the table surface well. My electrician and I put it together without any directions (there were NONE in the box or with the shipping notice on the outside of the box). After a few false starts, we figured out what order to attach everything and got it hung. I also had bought extra chain as the ceiling is over 12'. Fortunately there was plenty of wire, so he did not have to rewire it. The wires were too wide to fit in the holes at the top piece that attaches to the ceiling, so he had to pare a bit of the wire insulation off. Again, I'm lucky he knows what he's doing and he did not pare off too much so the wire inside was not exposed. So, while I do love the way my light looks, it was more work than it should have been. I would definitely state that in order to hang this light, you really need a good electrician and a strong assistant.
